Austin's Big Boy Bed!

When Caleb was 18 months old, we knew that we were going to have to move him from his crib to a big boy bed soon because "baby Barnwell" was coming and we didn't want him to feel displaced when the new baby came along. We moved him into the double bed that was in the guest room and the transition was actually pretty smooth. Caleb didn't get out of his bed for almost a year on his own and was content to play in his bed for a good while after he would wake up in the morning.

Well, all the signs were pointing to it, but Jason and I were ignoring it, that Austin was ready to get out of the crib and into a big boy bed. He had climbed out of his crib several times (thanks to Caleb showing him how to do it) and loved to crawl into Caleb's bed to rest and play. So, at 22 months we finally bit the bullet and moved him into a twin bed. His furniture is ordered, and should be coming the end of May, but we thought that we would start him slow by putting him in his bed and then having the rest of it arrive.

I don't think that either of us were quite sure what to expect, but when he climbed in "his" bed the first time, the look and smile on his face were priceless. He was so ready and so excited to have his own bed...and Cars sheets to boot!
